Have you never noticed?

I see someone in a berghaus fleece and I think "real ale drinker" just like I see someone in an adidas originals jacket and think "lager drinker"

I reckon 90+% of the time I'm right.

Cooking Lagerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02830924433230427226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6059712069593608891.post-16130625819448475762014-07-14T03:18:24.004-07:002014-07-14T03:18:24.004-07:00Do they, CL? The Lakes seem deliberately designed to appear on a chocolate box.

I remember having an excellent pint of Yates' Bitter in the George Hotel in Keswick.

But I'd agree a Spoons will shake them up.Curmudgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02558747878308766840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6059712069593608891.post-3815824638942074102014-07-13T08:37:01.912-07:002014-07-13T08:37:01.912-07:00As a pub goer since the early 1970s, I know that d...As a pub goer since the early 1970s, I know that drinkers at that time seeking a decent pint would have welcomed Wetherspoons with open arms: we wouldn't have believed our luck. But nowadays they often face opposition just as you describe: a combination of snobbery, scare tactics and protectionism.

Spoons vary in quality, like the pubs of any other pub company; I like ours in Southport, although it's not my local, but there are some I'd rather not go into. I'm certain that Keswick will benefit from a Spoons.Neville Grundyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10923209266005338452noreply@blogger.com
